2010 Community Kitchen Event Event 

For the WiNUP July event, the Community Outreach Committee partnered with The Community Kitchen in Columbus.

The Community Kitchen began operation in 1979 as the first soup kitchen in Columbus. Last year, they served over 104,000 meals! During the week of July 26th, WiNUP members prepped, served, and cleaned up after the noonday meal.

There were over 40 WiNUP members that volunteered and over 1500 meals were served in a four day period! In addition, we asked those unable to volunteer their time to please donate a toiletry. The Community Kitchen was touched by our toiletry donations. They were running extremely low and our efforts helped get them back on track.
